Past Nerem Travel Award Winners

2008 - Peng Kou from the lab of Julia Babensee, PhD, will travel in the spring of 2009 to the University of Twente, The Netherlands, to work with Professor Clemens A. van Blitterswijk on a project entitled, "Development and Validation of a High throughput Methodology to Dendritic Cell Phenotype Upon in vitro Biomaterial Contact."

2007 - Yash Kolambkar from the lab of Robert Guldberg, PhD, worked with Professor Dietmar Hutmacher from the National University of Singapore on a project entitled "Engineered Bone Constructs."

2006 - Jia Wei from the lab of Al Merrill, PhD, spent time at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute in the Neuronal Circuit Mechanisms Research Group in Japan. His research focused on serine palmitoyltransferase in SPT knockout mice.

2005 - Havinder Gill from the lab of Mark Prausnitz, PhD, traveled to Matti Sallberg, PhD, at Karolinska Institute in Stockholm to learn how to conduct immunological experiments with a DNA-based vaccine and carried out the first DNA vaccine delivery experiments to mice.
